On Human Projections

Okay, I've finally gotten the postcard finished. Now I have to get the things ordered and put them everywhere! Gabe and I are thrilled about this show and really hope if you are in the area on Wednesday the 8th, you'll stop by to see us at the opening. It's going to be a beautiful day.

Here is what the postcard profoundly says on the back. 

Herisau born and raised native, Gabriel Hendrix, and his wife, Rachel Hendrix, an artist from the United States, have joined forces to bring Herisau their first collaborative artistic efforts in one, electrifying show, “On Human Projections.”

Both artists bring quite a diverse body of work to the Old Zeughaus in Herisau. Gabriel’s work tends to lean towards surreal and conceptual representations of human projections through oil paintings, plaster casts, and multimedia. Rachel’s work consists of post-processed portrait photography, portrait and abstract paintings, and a few works that mix the two.

Der gebürtige Herisauer, Gabriel Hendrix, und seine Frau, Rachel Hendrix, eine Künstlerin aus den USA, haben sich zusammengetan, um Herisau ihre erste gemeinsame, elektrifizierende Kunstausstellung, “On Human Projections” vorzustellen.

Beide Künstler bringen unterschiedliche Ausstellungs - Objekte ins Alte Zeughaus in Herisau. Gabriels Werk hat einen Hang zum Surrealismus und zur konzeptuellen Darstellung menschlicher Projektionen. Er malt vor Allem in Öl, aber auch mit Mixed Media. Rachels Arbeit setzt sich zusammen aus Kombinationen nachbearbeiteter Porträt - Fotografie und abstrakter Malerei.
